Hat Care & Maintenance Guide
Keep your 1,200+ glass mirror facets gleaming for festival after festival.
1. Cleaning The Mirror Tiles
Buff tiles gently using the microfiber cloth included in your box. For stubborn dust or fingerprints, apply a light mist of standard glass cleaner directly onto the cloth (never spray the hat directly) and wipe in circular motions.
2. Store Right-Side Up
Always store your hat right-side up inside its original double-walled transit cage box when not in use. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of the crown or resting the hat on its brim curls for extended periods.
3. Avoid Extreme Heat
Do NOT leave your hat inside a sealed car trunk or parked vehicle on hot summer days. Prolonged temperatures exceeding 110°F (43°C) can soften silicone adhesives and loosen tiles. Store in a cool, climate-controlled space.
4. Never Submerge in Water
Do not soak, machine wash, or submerge your hat in water. If you get caught in festival rain, gently pat the tiles dry with a towel and allow the wool-felt base to air dry naturally away from direct heaters.
Applying Your Spare Mirror Tiles
Every Cowboy Disco Hat includes a packet of spare replacement mirror tiles inside the packaging.
1. Clean the surface of the empty tile spot with a dry cloth to remove dust.
2. Place a small pinpoint drop of clear flexible silicone craft glue or E6000 adhesive onto the back of the spare tile.
3. Firmly press the replacement tile into place for 30 seconds, then allow it to cure flat for 2 to 3 hours.
Festival Dancing & Security Tips
Going to a high-energy concert, Nashville dance hall, or multi-day festival like Stagecoach or Coachella? Before hitting the dance floor:
- Pull and tie the inner drawstring sweatband so the hat fits securely against your forehead.
- Use 2 bobby pins crossed through the sweatband into your hair for extra stability in windy festival grounds.
- Carry your optical microfiber cloth in your purse or pocket for quick mid-party shine touch-ups!
